Why We Gather Personal Information:

At Cricket, we gather and use personal information for credit adjudication, statistical purposes, collection of accounts receivable and reporting to various credit reporting agencies such as credit bureaus, administering your accounts and our relationship with us, meeting legal and regulatory requirements, and as may be required in the ordinary course of our business.

Electronic customer files are kept in a secured environment with restricted access. Paper-based files are stored in locked facilities. Access is also restricted. Our security practices are reviewed on a regular basis and we routinely employ current technologies to ensure that the confidentiality and privacy of your information is not compromised. When you call our customer service centre you will be required to verify your identity by providing some personally identifying information as well as your contract number.

In the event any breach of security safeguards involving personal circumstances creates a real risk of significant harm to an individual, Cricket will report that breach to the Privacy Commissioner and any affected individual as soon as feasible. In assessing whether there is significant harm, Cricket will consider factors which include the sensitivity of the personal information involved in the breach, and the probability that the personal information has been, is being used. Cricket will also advise any other organization or government institution regarding the breach where doing so may reduce the risk or harm that could result from the breach or mitigate that harm. Records of any such breaches shall further be maintained in accordance with applicable law.

Accessing and Amending Your Information:

You have the right to access, verify and amend the information held in your personal files. To help us keep your personal information up-to-date, we encourage you to amend inaccuracies and make corrections as often as necessary. Despite our efforts, errors sometimes do occur.
