Metering With Provident

Provident provides sub metering and billing solutions for multi-residential buildings across the GTA. Metering system services include installation, certification, maintenance, data collection, funds transfer, invoice generation, collections and an easily accessible customer service team.

While metering measures the energy used, submetering allows individual units within a building, such as condominium or apartment suites, to have their energy submetered and measured individually. Provident’s submetering services has excelled them to becoming a leader in multi-residential metering solutions.

The four metering options are available at a cost that is amongst the lowest in the industry: thermal, gas, electricity, and water.

Thermal meters measure the temperature and flow of the heating or cooling medium entering and leaving the equipment within your suite. By determining the flow and the temperature differential, the amount of energy used can be determined. A bill can then be accurately determined by the given cost per unit of energy delivered from the central plant.

Natural gas can be sub-metered meaning that the utility can be established based on each individual unit. Provident can also provide metering for mixed use facilities, in addition to multi-residential facilities, where retail units may be served by the main gas meter for an entire facility.

Electricity can also be sub-metered for proper cost allocation. Provident offers not only in-suite metering in multi-residential facilities, but also for mixed-use units within that facility providing exceptionally multi-functional and flexible service. Water sub-metering may be an option depending on a building’s equipment. This is certainly the case in new construction, with new piping technology, meters can be installed to properly allocate costs to each individual unit.
